A Letter from the
FOUNDING PRESIDENT:
“The HGSE Global Education Leadership Collective (HGSE-GELC) connects students who share an interest in global education, leadership, and cross-cultural learning.
Grounded in HGSE’s mission to “Learn to Change the World,” HGSE-GELC seeks to build community through dialogue, shared learning, and reflective practice, creating space for students to explore international education opportunities, challenges, issues of equity and culture, and real-world applications of their academic work.
Through collaborative workshops, discussions, and preparation for potential international education opportunities, HGSE-GELC members will strengthen their leadership capacity while enhancing their academic experience and preparing to engage thoughtfully in diverse educational contexts.”

Who We Are
The HGSE Global Education Leadership Collective (HGSE-GELC) is a formally registered student organization at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, founded in Spring 2026. HGSE-GELC brings together doctoral and master’s students who are passionate about global education, international leadership, and cross-cultural learning.
We are a professional learning community and a leadership development hub — a space where students can explore the challenges and opportunities of international education, share perspectives, and build the skills needed to lead and serve thoughtfully in diverse educational contexts around the world.
From collaborative workshops to international mentorship opportunities, HGSE-GELC bridges academic study and real-world global impact. Our members don’t just learn about global education — they prepare to lead it.
